To plant a self-sustaining, soul-winning, Bible-believing Baptist church in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago — a church that preaches the Word without apology, reaches the lost through personal evangelism, and sends out laborers to reach the city and the world.

Bridgeport, located at 35th & Halsted on Chicago's South Side, is a densely populated, historically significant neighborhood with virtually no gospel-preaching Baptist witness. Within a 10-minute radius, over 257,000 people live in 10 community areas — families, students, workers, and immigrants who need to hear the gospel.

Evangelism Strategy
Door-to-Door Soul Winning
Systematic, neighborhood-by-neighborhood canvassing with the gospel. Every door is an opportunity to present Christ and invite people to Bible study.
Home Bible Studies
Beginning with small home Bible studies to build relationships, disciple new converts, and develop the core group that will become the founding congregation.
Street Preaching & Literature
Taking the gospel to the streets, parks, and public spaces of Chicago through open-air preaching and gospel tract distribution.
Community Outreach
Meeting practical needs in the community as a bridge to the gospel — building trust and relationships that open doors for the Word of God.
Bus Ministry
Reaching children and families in the surrounding neighborhoods through a bus ministry — a proven tool for building attendance and reaching entire households.
Discipleship & Follow-Up
Every soul won is discipled. New converts are grounded in the Word, baptized, and integrated into the life of the local church.
Social Media & Digital Outreach
Using social media platforms to share the gospel, promote church events, and connect with the community — meeting people where they are in the digital age.
The Roadmap
Measurable Goals
Pre-Launch (Mid 2027)
Establish a core group of 10–15 committed people through home Bible studies and personal evangelism.
Launch (Fall 2027)
Hold the first public Sunday service of Skyline Baptist Church with a gospel-centered, Spirit-filled message.
Year One
Baptize new converts and begin a transportation ministry reaching families in the community.
Long-Term
Become a sending church — supporting missionaries, planting churches, and training laborers for the harvest.
